Wasabi-chan, the little kitty that fought

I’ve been on Instagram for about a month, checked out some #dogsofinstagram. And you know I’ve written about Norm Pug before. Norm Pug’s human is really good at taking creative photos of Norm, that gets a laugh out of you sometimes.

But the little furry that will really worm her way into your heart?

I’ll give my vote to Wasabi-chan anytime. And so today’s post is a little sad but I thought to give a little time to remember Wasabi-chan, a tiny kitten who has just passed over the rainbow bridge.

This is Wasabi-chan, you may have heard of her before.

About My Best Photo of the Week (MBPOTW) Challenge

I am going to start posting my Favourite Photo of the Week on Wednesdays. This will be what I think is my absolute best or favourite photo out of all the photos I have shot/edited and a short description why I feel so. And since I will be doing that, I thought to make it a photo challenge. Not another one? Yes, another one, LOL. Quite a few of us post pictures everyday or participate in one photo challenge or another through the week. I want this challenge to help us think about the pictures we are taking and posting, pick the best of the lot (just one) for that week and identify what makes it a good shot for us. This is a competition against ourselves, and not others. It is not about what others think about our photos, but what we think about it. Anyone can join this challenge, it doesn’t matter what you use to take your pictures or whether you post-process it or not. What matters is WHY you want to share it as your best/favourite picture. If you would like to join me,

Peeking in by the door

My Best Photo of the Week (MBPOTW) Challenge – week 1

Although it shows my dog in a somewhat worried state (which obviously I preferred her not to be in), I like this picture because her glance straight at the lens works well to connect instantly with the viewer. I usually choose not to over-saturate a picture, but in this case I feel the vibrant colours work, and so I am prepared to forgive the graininess in the leaves of the plants. Her eyes should capture you after all, not the graininess :P

The plant is the perfect foil for her uneasiness. Still and calm, the green leaves frame and reveal to you the unease a dog can feel in a perfectly safe and secure environment that is its home. Our flat has become a little messy of late but close cropping it to a small corner of the flat, you wouldn’t know, would you? :D

Update: Submissions has ended for this week. You can see the final submitted photos here – http://weliveinaflat.com/blog/my-best-photo-of-the-week-mbpotw-challenge-week-2/

Townerville Conservation Area

A little bit of history: The Townerville area comprise mainly terrace houses built in the 1920s. The Art Deco styled 2-storey buildings were formerly used as government quarters but now available for lease. While all the front facade of the units are built to look consistent, habitation gives each unit’s set if windows, door and door grill and the space within a slightly different character.
