Last night when we went down for Donna’s loo break, there was a youngish-looking cat stalking a lizard on the wall. On a whim, I made a meow-ing noise and the cat came towards us curiously. I had Donna sit and stay on one side of me, while on the other side I stroked the cat who was marking me with her scent. But soon enough, Donna would not sit and stay further. She got up and her head moved to sniff the cat even as she made to sniff at Donna’s nose.
I was quite astonished. It was a beautiful moment.
In pet or dog photography, because I am usually dealing with a critter much smaller and shorter than myself, it is common to switch between high-angle and eye-level (their eye level) shots.
a high angle shot refers to when the camera is located above the eyeline, looking downwards at the subject
For this set of photos, the ones on the left show the high-angle shots; the ones on the right show my dog, Donna’s, point of view.

My Best Photo of the Week (MBPOTW) Challenge – week 1
So last week was sleepy. See Bodhi’s big yawn there? :D
This is 1stWorldDog’s Best Picture of the Week – 21- 28 August 2013.
Makes me want to yawn with him every time I look at this picture… which is pretty impactful. :D
The last time I took a picture of Donna yawning, she looked like a character in Scream. :O
Bodhi’s picture is so much better! :D
Note: Thundershirt kindly arranged with their local partner, Hound Habitat, to send to me a sample of the Thundershirt for trial after I wrote to them about Donna’s thunderstorm phobia.
Strange as it may sound, there is a need to introduce anything new to the dog slowly. Our dog is not adventurous. New things are often viewed with an unhealthy dose of suspicion . So here’s Donna inspecting the Thundershirt.
Phoneography Monday Challenge: Nature
hosted by Lens and Pens by Sally
App used: Camera+
Post-processing done on my PC.
I was taking a picture to show you my favourite weed/flower. But the dog kept nosing under the bushes.
Identify yourself!
So I had to stop and check what’s up with her. And then I found this pair of eyes staring back at us.
Perhaps it’s mean to say this but it’s always funny to see the cats go all “red alert” when there’s a dog near :P
No cats were hurt in this photo shoot. I petted street cats regularly in my teens, but it changed when I got a dog. LOL.
