My Best Photo of the Week (MBPOTW) Challenge – week 7

LAST WEEK’S ENTRIES: My Best Photo of the Week (MBPOTW) Challenge – WEEK 6 (25 Sep – 02 Oct)

Pictures are cropped, please visit the original post (links below) to view the full pictures with the photographer’s original thoughts on them :)

The thing about photography is that it is such a good way to start to get to know something about a person. They say a picture speaks a thousand words, but a lot of times, there is also a lot of hidden meaning behind the picture that you wouldn’t know about. Not until you speak with the person who took the picture.

But since we are all so dispersed across the globe, blogging takes the place of one-to-one conversation. I’m very happy that we have representation from London, Thailand, Australia and Singapore today. :D

Barbara and Completely Disappear took very different pictures while focusing on just one particular subject for the image. And while Barbara took portrait of her daughter and Completely Disappear a photo of an orchid, both are symbolic of the close relationships they have with their families. And that’s what made these pictures beautiful to me, beyond the fact that they are nicely taken.

And then we have two shots of dogs, Donna and Bodhi. Bodhi’s human and I were experimenting with different apps for the shots we took. I love this picture of Bodhi, the warm, vibrant hue, unique angle and just the ruff joy of digging in the mud :D It is a happy picture, golden happy.

Please do visit and read more about each picture by clicking on the links above. The photographers have provided a little description of the pictures and why it is special for them :)

This challenge celebrates your best picture of the week. It may be a picture which you feel shows your technical skills improving. It may be a simple image that just shows you thoughts about the turn in seasons. It may be a quick snaps of something in the street that caught your eye. Whatever it is, it is a picture that you feel is that best/most interesting photo you have taken/edited for the week and which you would love to feature again.

  1. Exciting that more bloggers are coming on board the photo challenge.

  2. Beautiful shots. I think I need to get it together and enter this.

  3. I think my pingback fail to either ping or back, so here’s the link. I thought I’d throw an oar in these waters since I took so many pictures this week and they are screaming at me to display them somewhere :-)

    • Sorry about the confusion :) Your ping and comment were moderated. People who comment for the first time are moderated because I’ve got some weird comments in the past that I have to “spam”. You should have no problems in future after the first moderation :)

And this is exactly the place for those screaming images!! Welcome :)

  4. They are all so beautiful Mrs. P. Wish I knw which one of mine was the best so I can enter too but that is something I am struggling with as I don’t really think any are good enough to call them the ‘best’, but when that day comes, be sure I will enter. Have a great day. :D *big hugs*

    • It sounds to me that you are too critical of your pictures Sonel :P Have a lovely day today :)

      • Not really. I just don’t know which one to choose that I think is the best…or maybe I am critical. Who cares. LOL!
You too hon. *big hugs* to you and Donna. xxx

  5. All gorgeous – well done!

  6. Apparently I tagged something wrong. My post from today is not showing up in the weekly list in the wordpress reader.
