Reinforcing Heel and why she LOVES it!

I think all of our dogs have probably made the happy face at us when they know a treat is soon to come. This is Donna working on heel and trotting along beside me with her eyes shining up towards me in anticipation. A very silly yet endearing face. I call it the Treat Face.

Of course, she has this other face that Eko is demonstrating very well over here. I call that the Pathetic Face. I’ll show you Donna’s pathetic face another time. ;) Though I think most people will prefer the Treat Face to the Pathetic Face. At least, I do :P

Got a photo of your dog/pet’s Treat face or a Pathetic face or both? Give me a link in the comments and I’ll go see. ; )

Donna takes her own sweet time

Last week in the comments on Donna and husky videos, Lindsay from ThatMutt.com said: “The videos made me smile :) She’s fast!”

Yah, when our local mongrel dog wants to be. Her normal walking speed is…

This: Old lady walking speed

OK, I said walk, not stop.

I said Walk, not Stop…

So we go for a walk. A walk is when you put one foot in front of the other continuously and that movement carries you away to some place else.

Lately, she has decided that a walk also requires you to stay in place for a long time. A loooonnng time. Donna decidedly enjoys just standing in one spot, sniffing the air, listening and observing passerbys.

Rooted in the same spot, observing the world go by.
This is the cute, happy face you see if you are walking towards us.

Think she is being good?

this photo shows a dog sitting by the roadside at a road crossing. People in the background remarked that it is a good dog.this photo shows the same dog sitting by the roadside at a road crossing. A speech bubble from it says did you hear that? They said I'm a good dog.
this photo shows that the dog saw something in the distance. this photo shows the dog asking if they can move forward towards what the dog is looking at
this photo shows the dog remaining sitting in the same spot as the human refused to move forward with it. dog doesn't want to go in the opposite direction desired by the owner.this photo shows the dog stretching its head forward as it strains to observe the object of interest in the distance

Is she a good dog sitting by the roadside? Well actually, this is Donna sitting her ground during a walk at night and refusing to go home. She shows this kind of behaviour sometimes, and she will literally lie down and stick to the ground when she really, really doesn’t want to budge. That’s our Donna :P
