Phoneography Weekly: Panorama shot using Galaxy Note 3

Just a normal shot of breakfast at The Kitchen Table, W Hotel Sentosa Cove. The panorama shot comes next. :P

Sharing two dining and wining photos from my stay at W Hotel. I wanted to see the resulting capture by the panorama feature, and the 9-chair long Woo Bar was convenient since we were just sitting there. :P

Above, Woo Bar. Below, outside W Hotel in the day time.

One last look at Chinese New Year  Valentine’s Day last week also marked the 15th and last day of the Chinese New Year, so these have been removed. We are back to plain unadorned walls again in the flat.

Snappy H’appy Photo Challenge Week 2 – HDR and Saturation

  1. I really like the first image, because it gives me a sweeping image of what is happening as well as the character of the restaurant. Panoramas are fun, but definitely a challenge. Really like the way the light falls of the chairs. Happy Phoneography Monday.

    • Thank you :) The hotel has been set up to photographed well. It is not difficult to find a spot for a good photo. And I agree panoramas are a challenge which will take some practice and consideration. :)

  2. I do love the panorama feature (mine’s on an iPhone)!! I agree with Sally about liking the first one best but they all look good. The curve of the table and chairs stands out in the first.

    • Thank you :) It is hard to make panoramas stand out because they end up so narrow and thin on the blog. One has to take particularly striking landscapes for it to work I think… and then again it very much is dependent on where one is standing as well to be able to place more interesting portions of the landscape in focus and taking a larger portion of the panorama.

  3. I love those first two shots. I’ve not tried a panorama feature yet, I’ll have to give that a try.

  4. Love these photos!

  5. Ok, now you have me wanting to try a panorama shot! I bet they are like the HDR and the subject matter is key to a great shot. I actually like the outdoor shot, even though it is so thin. All the pathways are fascinating.

    • I love Tom Palladio‘s panoramas. I think the key has got to do with where you are standing and where you start and end the shot. And maybe a number of tries. For the last one, if I had been standing in a better spot, I might have the marina take up more of the panorama rather than the field, which I think would be more stunning. Panormas are pretty fun :)

  6. It’s good to know panorama come out on wordpress themes. Good job I often end up with jiggly edges on panorama.

    • So far I’ve had pretty good experience with both iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for panoramas. No jiggly edges :)

  7. I like the panorama photos.
