Donna has been using her Neater Feeder for 4 years now (original review here or you can watch this video right below). The feeder kept the floor dry and served us well so I really didn’t see the need to change it. (Although a friend who bought a new bowl for Donna was rather disappointed that we didn’t use it to feed Donna. Oops!)
Anyway, the plastic body is really durable (plastic takes a 1000 years to decompose in landfills after all) so we’ll keep using it as long as it is in good condition. The stainless steel bowls on the other hand were not faring so well. So I definitely wanted them changed.
Now comes the problem. The online retailer who gifted us the Neater Feeder does not sell the bowls separately. I also couldn’t buy the bowls conveniently off somewhere online like Amazon Prime. The original Neater Feeder bowls were purposefully designed with different depths so that the water bowl is deeper and held more water to keep the dog hydrated throughout the day. I really liked that about the Neater Feeder bowls.

New Ikea Egendom bowls for Donna’s Neater Feeder
So anyway, we went shopping at Ikea over the weekend… mostly baby stuff…BUT I finally picked up some new bowls for Donna. Tada!
Ok fine. Let’s slice up an egg for this pup.
Ok, so these Egendom bowls are only 6 cm in height so they still can’t compare to the original deep water bowl that came with the Neater Feeder. But priced at $4.90 per bowl, these enamel steel bowls make a nice and affordable option if you want to escape the stainless steel look. Haha!
