I was taking a picture to show you my favourite weed/flower. But the dog kept nosing under the bushes.

Identify yourself!

So I had to stop and check what’s up with her. And then I found this pair of eyes staring back at us.

Perhaps it’s mean to say this but it’s always funny to see the cats go all “red alert”  when there’s a dog near :P

No cats were hurt in this photo shoot. I petted street cats regularly in my teens, but it changed when I got a dog. LOL.

  1. Brought a smile–happy Phoneography Monday.

  2. My cat brothers and I highly approve! Donna, being a good girl, of course, didn’t hurt the cat. Good girl!

  3. I like the photo with the cat in color and everything else washed out. How did you do that?

    • Primitively :P I made a copy of the coloured image in black and white and layered it over the colour. And then I erased the parts of the black and white where I want the colour to show up. Setting the eraser to e.g. 20-50% allows the lighter wash of colour which makes it look wash out. Setting the eraser to 100% reveals the cat and the warm texture and structure of the surrounding dried leaves on the ground. It was all done in Photoshop.

  4. Great shots Mrs. P. If that was Simba the cat wouldn’t have stayed there. LOL! He is too lazy to walk far nowadays but when he sees a cat, he wants to play and then he runs very fast for an old man. heheheh

  5. Lovely photo’s! I’m surprised that kitty did not go lickity split.

    • Street cats, I think, are particularly feisty about territory I think. At least the ones we meet do. Not a lot of them run away. Of course, it may also be because Donna is generally leashed, not excitedly barking and rushing up at them so they have more of a nerve to stand their ground!! :P

  6. My dog would have killed the cat.

  7. Critters always make everything a little more interesting, Great series :)

  8. LOL you never know what you might find!

  9. My favorite is the first one of the kitty under the bushes. :)

  10. I love these photos. So playful! :)
