Phoneography Weekly: Drift and Fall

The networked veins of a dried leaf

The blown away seed that spins in the breeze.

Twitch, quivering, snort!

Nose dives down and up,
green blades ebb and flow.

A little jump, surprise.

An unsure paw hovers
a second,
plunges down the next
and the snot nose rows
by once more.

Twitch, quivering, snort!

Nature’s tiny treasures,
once examined,
lie undisturbed.

  1. Oh, I adore your images–symbols of the cycle of life. I’m drying some leaves now. They fascinate. Nicely done.

    • I’ve never tried drying leaves before, do they eventually turn out like that into skeletons? Thank you and have a great day, Sally! :)

  2. Lovely, lovely photos. I’ve always loved the leaf skeletons!

  7. So skeletal! I love the first image! Amazing subject :)

    • Amazing how it can become like that by itself in nature, isn’t it? I used to collect these in primary school, flatten them and make them into bookmarks.
