This is how we play: Donna and husky videos

Most of the photos of Donna and the husky were blur, the last time I took them. The next time we met the husky at the dog run, it was dusk, so I took videos instead.

They are not very good videos, but still it’s fun to look at them and see how Donna and the husky play. :P … at least for me that’s the case :P

Oh look, I can jump to the side and run in a circle.

Well, I can jump to the left, to the right and attempt to pounce on you.

Well, I’d rather you chase me than wrestle me.

I’m thirsty now.

Someone remarked before that Donna is defensive when playing. Do you think so? I’m not sure if that’s good or bad, if it were the case.

Everyone went outside for their photos this week! Or in my case, a representation of what we did outside :P

I had always thought that it is hard to capture scenery photos. If it was at a tourist spot, well then, there’s always some other tourist getting in the way and preventing you from a wide shot. You need to be there at the right time of day for the right light, stand at the right spot to get the perfect aspect and of course have the right equipment, if you are aiming to capture something that tells a story rather than what is that mess of green?? What was I looking at when I took it?

And yet, it is often the day-to-day scenes that feature most in our lives, that will give you a little bit on the detail and the context of the culture/environment that we grow up with and operated in. Whether we came from the city in a small island or live in wide open spaces in a country many times the size. Not the touristy places that we have been to all of one time. :P

So this week, as you know autumn comes to some friends like Dawn (Lingeringvisions) and I imagine, Meghan (2catsandacattledog) may be experiencing autumn over at her area as well? Meghan’s is an imaginative photo of a wiccan woman with a cauldron, and you have got to use your Harry Potter senses when you look at that one. Muggles may have some difficulty seeing it :P

Dawn’s picture is a well-composed one of an early morning Autumn road… sans tourist or other photo bombers ;P I would love to walk a long such a road not just for the sights but also for the temperature. It is always hot and wet in Singapore, and I imagine in Thailand as well.

The scenery over at Thailand is slightly different, Completelydisappear’s photo of the scenery comes from the different perspective from a boat, looking at the buildings on the river bank, silhouetted by the roof of the boat . Not so green and open, with a different vibe.

Over in sunny Australia, we see a silhouette of a different kind – Bodhi takes us back out to open, green spaces like Meghan and Down, but thinks you should look at his sillhouette instead ^ ^ Whether the silhouette is the subject, or frames the subject, it still adds an element of interest to the picture doesn’t it?

Last but not least, mine is a picture of something I put together to illustrate what Donna and I have been doing outdoors. A photo can show you what the outdoors look like, it can tell you a story of what we have been doing outdoors, on a boat or on a bike.

Go click on the links above because the photographers will have more detail what they did at the point of taking the picture, sharing a bit about themselves and their daily lives. It’s not the places that we have been to that define us as people, but what we see, think and feel everyday that makes us so. Thank you for sharing :)

Why does my dog hump other people/dogs?

Why does my dog hump other people/dogs?Picture taken in January

She never did this before, but we had only adopted her for a short period of time when this picture was taken… it sure looks funny. She looks like a pole dancer…

So I sent the picture over and was informed that we’ve got to stop it because humping is a sign of dominance. Ooops… ok, best stop encouraging the dog just because I want to take a funny video :P

But really?? Dominance? Our dog?

Phoneography weekly: Swimmingly

Phoneography Monday Challenge: Nature

Apps used: Camera+, vine

While waiting for our lunch to be served, I took pictures of the fishes swimming by. Fishes aren’t choreographed to swim by and look orchestrated for the camera, so the first shot was the only good one that I liked in terms of balance and composition.

The sky has done falling, so what’s for dinner?

The world was ending yet again today. At least, you would think so looking at the panting dog in front of you.

The thunder this afternoon was louder than the mild grumbles of yesterday. Time to re-enact another session of please pee/poop on the new blue pee tray Donna and yay, let’s eat the yummy food when it thunders!

Back and forth, we danced from kitchen to crate, and sometimes the loo. Dog ate up a half can of wet food from yesterday and almost another can of Herbed Duck confit for today. Almost… because by 4.30, she refused another tablespoon of the mushy stuff and just lay on the floor like a stone statue.

Sort of like this stone statue from some time back.

She probably was too tired to walk back and forth any more after 2 hours of standing and walking around in agitated from the thunderstorm. I know my feet hurt! And maybe, she just had food right up to here. *gestures at the top of the throat*

Who knew the thunder-phobic dog had the amazing ability to recover and come by punctually at 8pm seeking dinner?

Dinner… human, it’s time for dinner… … old picture from Drool-worthy

I’m sorry, darling, but you had your fair share of food for the day. So, no dinner for you. :P

This was dinner on a better day.

Ding-Dong! Trick or Treat!

Trick
So this is the human’s minimal effort at dressing up Donna for Halloween. I’ve been walking her with that silly bow on her head for the whole week and she’s quite used to it now ;) Of course, the first day was really fun for the human who kept laughing at how silly Donna looks with a bow on her head while sniffing, peeing and pooping. But Donna got used to it after a while and so did the human. So it stopped being so funny. Haha.
