Whoever thought that blue filters could work?

Apps: A Better Camera, EyeEm, Aviary, Snapseed
This week was difficult for me, since there wasn’t anything I was particularly interested in for macro.

At the last minute, I picked out the lone chrysanthemum blossom standing by the refrigerator in the kitchen. Already 3 days old and a little squashed by the refrigerator door, I didn’t hold high hopes for it. It didn’t help that I will be subjecting it to the harsh white light in the middle of the night. It was a beautiful warm, soft pink graduated hue when I first bought it at the market. It was gorgeous.

As expected, the resulting captures turned out lack lustre. In fact the pristine white tips of the petals turned a little grey/dark because of the lighting D: It was awful.

Ran it through some blue filters, saturated the colours, and the world became a much better place. :)

#2 is my favourite today.

  1. What fun–the processing gives the flowers a lovely patina that could be real. Happy Phoneography Monday.

    • Yup, the macro shots gave it the structure and the colours brought it to life, Sally. Thank you and have a great week ahead!

  2. Beautiful color and light brought out by the macro shots.

  3. My favorite today is #2 as well… the eye is drawn into that lovely golden center. Nice save on the macros!

  4. #2 is gorgeous!
