My Best Photo of the Week (MBPOTW) Challenge – week 1
Although it shows my dog in a somewhat worried state (which obviously I preferred her not to be in), I like this picture because her glance straight at the lens works well to connect instantly with the viewer. I usually choose not to over-saturate a picture, but in this case I feel the vibrant colours work, and so I am prepared to forgive the graininess in the leaves of the plants. Her eyes should capture you after all, not the graininess :P
The plant is the perfect foil for her uneasiness. Still and calm, the green leaves frame and reveal to you the unease a dog can feel in a perfectly safe and secure environment that is its home. Our flat has become a little messy of late but close cropping it to a small corner of the flat, you wouldn’t know, would you? :D
Update: Submissions has ended for this week. You can see the final submitted photos here – http://weliveinaflat.com/blog/my-best-photo-of-the-week-mbpotw-challenge-week-2/

I think this is your best photo – ever!!!!! Honestly :)

Thank you! Sorry for the late reply. I was hoping there were more pingbacks :D Haha!
rubytheblacklabrador
That’s absolutely fine – no pingbacks I don’t think…
weliveinaflat
Nope there wasn’t any more.
ILoveDogs
Fantastic photo! You definitely captured her eyes. She doesn’t look worried, though. I think she looks curious and cautious… and adorable.
weliveinaflat
Cautious is probably it, there was a bit of thunder but it was in the distance :) Thank you for the kind words Dawn!

I like her expression. Almost like she is hiding or afraid of the camera.
weliveinaflat
She was like that even before the camera came out. She wasn’t sure about the thunder in the distance, I think, so she came by the door to check how I was reacting or not reacting to it perhaps. Or it may be for reassurance, who knows? Wish I speak dog or the dog speaks human :P

That is the wonder of having pets. In natural horsemanship they reach us to think like a horse, along with studying the four horsenalities. It works! Some day I’ll have to do a post on that.
weliveinaflat
Oh yeah I didn’t know there’s such word horsnalities! Let alone 4 :D I only rode a horse or pony once before on a trail ride. It was skinny, old and cranky! :D

Fabulous picture! She is very expressive.
weliveinaflat
Thank you, I have started to think that all dogs are expressive but I may be wrong :P
Dogs N Pawz
Love the picture! It’s awesome :)
weliveinaflat
Thank you very much :)

Stunning shot! Love it Mrs. P. :D *hugs* to you and beautiful Donna. xxx
weliveinaflat
Unfortunately its easier to take pictures of her like this when she wants your attention, then pictures of her smiling when she rather you not take pictures of her D: Haha, Donna is beautiful but perverse :P *just joking :P*
Sonel
LOL! Sounds familiar! :D
