Phoneography weekly: Tiny little baubles

Phoneography Monday Challenge: Macro
Apps used: Camera+, Snapseed, Instagram

Sometimes one doesn’t see something until after the fact. A close shot of the side of a mug of coffee at the local hawker centre, shows it unexpectedly clad with sugar.

An even closer shot from the side of a tall, clear plastic cup filled with Sprite, shows human figures obscured by the bubbles in the fizzy drink, and the strange silhouette of umbrella-looking canopy shapes in the indoor restaurant space.

I thought the two make an interesting comparison.

And it wasn’t until I took some close-up shots of my dog drinking milk that I realise how dilated her eyes get when she gets at her food!

  1. Wonderful macros–tiny little bubbles. Happy Phoneography Monday.

  2. The macro world is a revelation: I enjoyed the photos! Also, Donna isn’t “too” excited to get some milk, is she? I love the look in her eyes! Sweet!

    • She is excited but not too excited :P And yes, her eyes do get a little desperate or pathetic looking when it involves food :P

  3. Macro photography has always been my favorite. Love these.

  4. Cool photos. I so love seeing what everyone else found for the challenge!

That’s fascinating! Especially the first shot! But the dilation revelation is fun. :) Our cat’s eyes get hugely dilated when he’s enjoying cat nip or something equally yum.

    • Glad you like the first shot. And yes, it is a revelation about the dilation because she is always looking downwards when she is eating or drinking so I never see!! Haha! Strange how we notice dilation in dog and cat’s eyes but not humans :P

  6. Refreshing and fun! :)
