My Best Photo of the Week (MBPOTW) Challenge – week 7

Other than the graininess, this shot turned out surprisingly well. Taken at 8pm in the car, the iPhone screen registered darkness until I tried turning on the ceiling light. Not bad for a picture of a black dog against the dark leather of the car seat at night. :P

  1. Yes, very good. She rides like Torrey does in our truck.

    • Torrey is one chill dog!! Donna doesn’t usually ride like that… she usually wants to see everything! But she was too tired that night :P

  2. You need a throne like we have-it let’s you see outside and enjoy the scenery.

    • Donna doesn’t have a throne but usually does sit up and enjoy the scenery. It makes the human unhappy because they haven’t got a safety harness for Donna yet and lying down is probably safer for Donna than sitting up. Donna doesn’t really care~

      • The throne has a hook to the seat belt that attaches to my harness. The seat belt also restrains the throne.

        • Interesting, perhaps the human should go explore if there are thrones for medium dogs and how safe they are for them. :) Thanks for sharing!
          – Princess Donna needs a throne!!…now, how do we oust the evil human queen???

  3. What a great picture!

  4. That is pretty good considering all the darkness. Excellent!

  5. FleaByte

Oh, what a sad little face! Some of my best dog shots are in the car, both day and night. I love the light changes.

    • Don’t be fooled!!! That is the fishing for liver treats face!!! I seldom take photos in the car, so this was new and interesting to me :) Maybe I should try it more since you love it so much :D

  6. That did turn out nice despite the surroundings. Do you find photographing a black dog particularly challenging?

    • Because our flat largely provides a white background and its green grass/grey concrete outdoors, she usually turns out clear and shows up well in pictures…Night photography is a challenge because she is dark in the dark night. It’s also more of a challenge if she was playing with pure white dogs, because than the contrast is very high and the white dog can easily get too bright or Donna too dark. :)

  7. Ahhh I love this photo. Her eyes are so captivated.

  8. Wow! Now that is one stunning shot Mrs. P. Goodness me! I love it! A frameable shot for sure. :D *big hugs*

  9. Lovely, lovely photo. Not bad…no not bad at all! I always think black pets are harder to photograph, but I think you are continuing to prove that this is just not so!

  10. I like the moodiness of the shot, there’s a nice intimacy created. I find it the hardest to photograph my black and white Tuxedo cat because of the strong contrast. His white fur is often way too bright. Something to work on. Donna, have you discovered the Snapseed app for the iPhone? It is hands down my favorite phone photo editing app. Cheers! • Yes I have! Use snapseed every day :) and I get what you mean about photographing black and white :) It is quite a challenge :)
