We’ve visited Punggol Settlement for a cycling outing before. So when I heard Punggol Waterway Park [google map], I assumed it would be roughly the same area. I was wrong, the two are about 2.8km apart if you drive. Last year we visited and found Punggol Waterway Park to work pretty well for a doggie Christmas picnic that we were invited to.
Here we are at Punggol Waterway Park!!
Our friend, Liz, found a great spot for a doggie picnic. Look at all the empty grassland for Donna to go crazy in. :P :P :P (You can see her having a wild time playing fetch in my facebook album here.)
Donna also had a great time interacting with the humans and begging for food. :P Liz was the perfect host and prepared food, fruits, etc for both human and canine guests.
The dogs had their different personalities.
I was most amused by the handsome Tabby @tabby_kimkim , who decided it was his task to protect the ice cooler. (Or maybe he just wanted to cool his tummy by lying on it. I didn’t manage to capture a picture of that before this blue container was parked on the cooler and prevented him from flopping all over it again. Oops! :P)
Christmas log cake & champagne
And what was a doggie Christmas Party without a log cake? Tadah!
And that’s when you start to find lots of fluffy white polar bears milling around. :P
And we even had champagne!!
A gift exchange and best dressed competition was part of our picnic.
Toys for dog
I went crazy over the little piglets at Ikea. They are suitable for age 0 and up. So I bought a set of three for the gift exchange. And a set of three for Donna. And a set of three as gifts for when we are next invited to a birthday party. :P :P :P (That’s over $50 worth of piglets oops!)
The piggies went to BB @alloysius79, and I am so glad he and his dad really seem to like them alot! :D :D :D
Donna received her DoggyMan dog that looks like a neck cushion from Shiro @shiro_sees_the_world. But I couldn’t get it to stay on her neck for a photo :P She uses it as a neck rest and wonders if a treat is coming since I am taking pictures :P
Donna also won a Fuzzyard santa toy for best dressed dog. The shirt she wore seem to work well on smaller dogs, but on her, it keeps sliding down her shoulders so I wasn’t very impressed by it. :P
Picnics are fun :)
The area where we picnic was conveniently near the carpark and toilet. While there was a fair amount of human traffic because it was a weekend, they mostly kept to the footpaths so the dogs had free rein in the field. :D
Many thanks to Liz for organising the party, and making it really feel like a celebration with all the food and the champagne ;)

Who can blame someone for going for the cooler-it probably contained the beverage of picnics-beer!
