Dog run

The dog was perhaps 8 metres away from me. She was stooped facing me, peeing with one leg lifted slightly off the ground. She was staring at me all the while, a glimmer in her eyes, a roguish smile. I looked on. She was done. And then she launched toward me. A hurricane of a dog barreling closer and closer. Closing in. 5 metres. 3 metres. Half metre away from me, she veered off to the right.

      • bend your knees and brace for impact…that way you won’t get wiped out by a dog!

        • Thankfully, she is not that big and heavy to wipe me out at 15kg. Though have to say, I wasn’t nimble enough to escape the body slams….

          • Ruby is 30kg of solid muscle (?) and it hurts when she hits my legs!

          • Woah, I think Ruby will totally knock me off my feet!!! Wow, I hope you don’t get hit that often, sounds painful for sure… despite her.. questionable muscles :P

          • Have had one major hit and had physio for a month afterwards – really hurt my knee. they always seem to play at your feet when they have the whole park to rumble in…

          • Omg that’s awful! I hope you are all recovered now and do not suffer from any residue pain! Need to get like a captain America shield around the legs to defend you from ruby’s shenanigans!

          • Yes am completed recovered. Two people in our park had knee reconstructions though in separate incidents!

          • That sounds like such accidents may be pretty common! When we got Donna, I was still working on the recovery of my fractured foot from falling off a flight of stairs… a double whammy from a dog would have been horrendous… even walking her at that time was literally a pain… which was why one of her first commands was “slow” XD Am glad you have completely recovered. I still sometimes walk up with a stiff foot and limp until it warms up these days… = =

          • Would you have any issue with me quoting you with this line “Two people in our park had knee reconstructions though in separate incidents!” in tonight’s post… The post is about zoomies and how body slams by a larger, heavier dog than Donna can lead to human injuries. Thanks!

          • No probs – go for it!

          • Awesome thanks :)

  1. Looks like you and Donna both had lots of fun Mrs. P. Beautiful photo’s of her as usual hon. :D *hugs*

    • Oh yes, take her to a place where she can run freely and sniff at stinky spots and she’s in doggy heaven :P Hope you weekend has been a good one too :)

  2. Sounds like fun!

  3. Sike! Did Donna know it was a game or did she feel threatened?

    • I had to look up “sike” and it says: The immediately preceding statement is false and was told to mislead.
I think she thinks it’s a great game :D… when she feels threatened, her reaction is always to shrink back and curl into a ball and pretend she doesn’t exist. Kind of hard for a 15kg black dog to accomplish… not exist I mean :P
