Donna visits My Waterway @ Ponggol

Donna on the way to Ponggol Waterway with her new doggles!
1 Day 1 World Project: Donna at 5:00pm – 6:00pm (last week)
… on the way to Ponggol Waterway with her new doggles! ;)

We actually did not cover much territory at the waterway at Ponggol. This missy here spent too much time stopping to inspect every single grass patch.

But I’m happy inspecting the grass patch, human!

But the doggles have been quite a hit with passers-by. Perhaps too effective in distracting them from the “scary” black dog beneath.

Donna looked so approachable that a little boy ran to her to touch her back without asking permission. Now usually little boys are screaming, “Dinosaurusdog!” and talking about how fierce she looks. Little girls don’t even bother, they just scream and run away. Ok, I exaggerate. Only some do. :P

Anyway, the boy’s parents should be thankful that Donna is as friendly and harmless as that inanimate doggle. Hah!

Moving on, the path led us to Sunrise Bridge.

Look at it from another direction, it becomes sunset bridge, so says the human. :P

I thought we’d take a photo of her on the bridge but the human traffic was so heavy I could never get a clear shot.

These ladies crept into the background as I was preparing to snap.

And then a cyclist went by. Donna got distracted.

Those ladies didn’t seem to be moving. By then, both Donna and I had pretty much given up. :P

On the other side of the bridge we found the name marker for the area.

Much like my mother has done with her children in the past, I decided that Donna should pose right there with it to show that we were here!

These human photobombs just don’t go away, do they? Please fix your eyes on Donna instead :P

And since there didn’t seem to be a lull in the human traffic over here either and two young men were giving the two crazy adults photographing a dog weird looks, we should just move on. :P

Further down the track, a rain shelter looked empty.

Sea of clouds, and a man sleeping.

But actually wasn’t.

No matter, we stopped here and took in the big empty space and the clouds.

I think this is the Serangoon Tidal Gates

Mr P noticed the moon in the sky and challenged me to take a photo of Donna with the moon.

#challengeaccepted.

Out of four random shots, the moon was only captured in the first one. :P Lucky, much?

And when the crazy humans got bored, we tried to encourage Donna to hop through the tunnel made out of rings of the bicycle rack. :P … Unsuccessfully.

She went through about 3 rungs of the bicycle rack, and then couldn’t move forward because her back legs were still stuck outside.

It was getting dark, so time to head back to the carpark.

The sun starting to set on our way back.

According to this article, there are 5 bridges along the waterway and we’ve only managed to come across one out of five! Definitely a reason to go back.

Address Along Sentul Crescent Road (map)

Why you should go
– Large beautiful park, with water features.
– Free parking on weekends
– Photography – sunrise view
– People watching, especially people on self-powered contraptions that are not bicycles. :P

Why you should not go
– Cyclists are many so may not be so suitable for dogs reactive to bicycles.
– Too busy and crowded with people, children so maybe not be that suitable for dogs reactive to humans who approach too closely
– Challenging to get good photos without being photo-bombed, so avoid if you hate crowds.

  1. It looks like a great place to walk, and you got some wonderful photos, in spite of all the photo bombing humans! The sky and clouds are stunning. I especially like the photo of Donna on the sign….I always like to take those photos too to mark where we have been.

    • I only started taking pictures of Donna with signs recently! But yes, I think it’s a good thing to do! Thank you! :)

  2. You got some nice pictures! Looks like a great place to visit.

  3. Surprise! A lot of people in Asia. Who would have thought it possible.

  4. I always think dogs in doggles are so cute and Donna is definitely the cutest. :) Love the photo on the name marker too!

  5. Great shot with the rings, really cool framing. Not as cool as doggles, but close!

    • Haha! We don’t have these so readily for sale locally… or Donna may end up with a whole closetful of useless accessories… :P

  6. Great photos! Humans are notorious photo bombers!
