Paris’ Wagington Pool Party

Waggington Bone Pool PartyThe cool thing about birthdays is that different pet parents will have different preferences where to celebrate!

We were invited to Paris’ pool party over the weekend to celebrate her 2nd birthday. Come and check out the pool at The Wagington with Donna!

Getting that birthday vibe on!

We were late to Paris’ Wagington Pool Party but still in time to help with the decorating (see that section of the video). Phew!

And when we’re done, it’s time for the pups to work it! :P

That’s Cudtlez, Cookie, Donna and Kanon posing for our Donna and the Spitzes album cover art.
Our amazing canine-music album is unfortunately indefinitely on the shelf until Donna gets better at vocalising. HAHA :P

And here’s the birthday girl!

Paris, the Japanese Spitz with the rainbow tail :)

Generally it makes sense to take the group picture and serve the food before the dogs get themselves and everything about them wet. So …tadah! Group pix!

If you can’t see Donna, it’s because she decided to get comfortable curled up on the outdoor lounge gossiping with Yuri the Labrador.

There! Now we can see both of them better from this angle.

It’s fantastic how just one year of infrequently hanging out together can make Donna and Cookie so comfortable with each other, even if one were to step on the other for support or the other were to shove her ass into his head. :P

Princess Paris is not impressed. :P

So finally they got themselves in order and just looked too cute, the three of them – Donna, Cookie and Luckie together – with their somewhat synchronised act. :P

Hiding under the shade. Check out the colourful rug!

The party was in the afternoon so it was hot and Donna spent some time hiding out under the outdoor cabana.

The Yummy Party Food

But nothing can stop her from emerging from the shadows when it came to food!

There was the gorgeous yellow ducky birthday cake that I didn’t take a photo of, silly me! And there were also party bites like the dog pizza and the dog fruit tarts. Check out the section of the video where Donna samples the food!

Neither Yuri nor Kanon will be deterred either when it comes to food, :)

Fun at the Pool

It is peaceful here with Mr P. HAHA!

Paris takes a time out from the pool, while Kanon goes boating… or floating.

You are a sitting duck, Kanon! HAHAHAHAHA

And did Donna swim? Check out the section of the video where Donna contemplates the pool! :P

So, it’s not life and death for us that Donna needs to learn to swim.  I rather she learns to swim because she finds it fun then to learn to swim because I made her. ;) #positivetraining

Dogs chill under the cabana

Donna decided she had enough of the swimming retrievers, and independently headed over to the cabana, where the lazy dogs and humans hide from the sun. :P

Why am I not surprised to find you here, Cookie?

“Because this is where the smart dogs go!,” said Cookie, “Look, even Paris is here!”

And of course, Cookie must show you just how smart he is.

See, I’m smart!

But Donna really wasn’t paying attention to him, was she?

Ooooh, head massage….ahhhhhh!

Can I adopt her, human?

Donna says this is the part of the party she likes best! See it in video! ;)

musher's secret from www.luv-ya-pet.comDonna was protected with Musher’s Secret paw wax from Luv-Ya-Pet.com! The party was planned for 2pm to 5pm, it was hot but we hung out in the shaded spots. Haha! Water can soften your dog’s paws and make them weaker to harsh concrete around pools and extra sensitive to hot floor surfaces. Check out How to Care for Dog’s Paw Pads in Hot Weather for more pawcare tips!

  1. The dogs invited humans to the party? The dogs shared tarts with humans? That was very magnanimous of the dogs.

  2. I loved the video. Yep, I don’t think Donna is a swimmer….lol. Freighter would do just like Donna and put the fruit on the ground. He would eat it, but after he put it on the ground. Loved the group picture. Quite a feat to get all the dogs together like that. Thanks so much for joining the hop!

    • No, she isn’t :P But she does wade into waves at the beach, so I think she’s somewhat getting used to it rather than being totally averse to water. And she was happy taking food until she saw one of the spitzes carried into the water, then she refused food and look worried :P hahaha… but she looked curious when it was the golden retrievers having fun :) Donna only ate the pumpkin, not the fruits!

  3. Sue

Wow! What a party! Love the photos and video!

  4. Not all dogs are swimmers, LOL. Sampson is more of a wader while Delilah is the swimmer.

I love the way your group gets together and celebrates with their dogs. I wish there was more of that here.

Thanks for joining the blog hop!!

    • Yah, I think Donna can be a wader like Sampson then! At the beach! I think we’re lucky that people on Instagram are friendly and generally happy to connect! :)
