1 Day 1 World Project: Donna at 12:00pm – 1:00pm Tuesday

It’s when the dog goes still that you realise she is worried and nervous. She may look still but, if you touch her you can feel her quavering. In fact, if you look long enough, you’ll realise the trembling is quite visible. The whale eyes say it all. Why are you still taking pictures of me? – the panicky dog.

She doesn’t stay still for long, once she goes beyond threshold she would get up and tentatively wonder about unsure of where to go is the safest. My role is always to try to keep her as comfortable as possible, taking cover under the table without her going beyond threshold.

We’ve actually made pretty good progress. She hasn’t had an episode of fear peeing this year yet. However, there is still this dependency on the human being there, which isn’t good. Still, progress is progress.

For 24 weeks, weliveinaflat will post photos taken for a specific hour in that week.
We will cover 24 hours in 24 weeks. (I’ve no idea how we will do the sleeping hours, lol!)

  1. Thanks so much for joining the hop. Sometimes progress is just baby steps, but as long as she is going forward that is wonderful!

    • She has good and bad days, so hopefully slowly she’ll have more good days. :) It has been thundering everyday these days.

      • Remember that Canine Calm stuff I got in Bugsy Box? I have used it a couple of times with Thunder who dislikes thunder storms the older he gets. It seems to help. It is just essential oils that you rub on the fur.

  2. I know from working with our fearful girl Maggie, you take whatever progress you get in whatever small steps. Good luck.

  3. Thanks for joining the blog hop. She is certainly giving you the stink eye. As others have said, progress is progress no matter how small. One day you will look back and say, “When did that happen?” as every bit of progress is really just a small snapshot of the overall photo. :-)

    • I like how you put it, that every bit of progress is really just a small snapshot of the overall photo!! :)

  4. You won’t be waking me up to take pictures, so go for it.

  5. You celebrate each step and when one day you look back and are amazed at how those steps have added up.

  6. She is such a sweet looking dog, even when she’s nervous. :) Thanks so much for joining the 1 Day 1 World project!

  7. Love this idea, and her progress!!!

  8. Such cute pictures of her. It will be interesting to follow this project!

  9. Progress is progress. Poor thing looks scared. That’s an interesting project you are participating in. Will be interesting to see how the night hours work! My girl would be laying on her back with all four in the air!

  10. Sue

What a cool project! Poor baby… small steps lead to big changes, no matter how long it takes.

  11. Perhaps when Donna sleeps you’ll have to take pics of what YOU do in some of those hours. ;) I just joined the project. It’ll be fun to be in another challenge with you! I hope it stops thundering soon. Poor sweet girl. (love whale eyes)
